What is the difference between "regular" and "heavy duty" refinishing? If your factory protective headlight coating is still good but is starting to show light clouding, you would only need regular refinishing. If your original factory protective coating is dead, it all has to come completely off before we can apply your new UV/Thermal coating, requiring heavy duty refinishing.
Think of it like this... If you had a dining room table that had a clear coat on it such as varnish, sometimes all it might need is a good cleaning and polishing with furniture polish. Other times, you could clean and polish it 'til you are exhausted but it just won't shine. This is because the varnish is DEAD! The table needs to be completely stripped and sanded perfectly smooth before you can apply NEW varnish, right? It's the same with headlights, but with a thermal coating instead of varnish.
